Jeffrey J. Phillips

Jeffrey J. Phillips 79, of Swampscott, Entered Eternal Rest on January 27, 2025.

Jeff was born and raised in Lynn, the son of the late Morris and Sarah (Froomer) Phillips. He received his undergraduate degree in 1968 from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and his juris doctorate in 1972 from Suffolk University Law School, Boston. He was a practicing attorney since 1974 and was a principal at the firm of Phillips & Angley in Boston. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Jewish Community Center in Marblehead, and Temple Emanu-El of Marblehead. His support for those institutions was made evident by his continued connection and generous gifts over the years. He is remembered by clients and friends alike as a tenacious, loyal, and hard-working advocate.  In addition to his keen legal acumen, clients prized his judicious, almost unerring practical perspectives.  

Jeffrey was the devoted husband of Carol (Sukenick); the beloved father of Madeline Phillips and Samuel Phillips; father-in-law to Matthew Renner; zayde to Jacob Renner; uncle to Joshua Miller and Gabriel Miller-Phillips; and the dear brother of the late Frederic “Freddy” Phillips.
